Spotlight on Main Sessions
We are excited to tell you about our main session on “Gender equality and empowering women: making life better for everyone”. We have three incredible speakers already confirmed for this session. Dr Roopa Dhatt (India) is Executive Director of Women in Global Health, a passionate advocate for gender equality in global health and a leading voice in the movement to correct the gender imbalance in global health leadership. Dr Nomafrench Mbombo (South Africa) is the Western Cape Minister of Health and holds a PhD. in Gender and Human Rights. She was also the Federal Leader of the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network from 2018 to 2021. One of the founders of the Syrian Women’s Political Movement and the Syrian Nonviolence Movement, Mariam
Jalabi (Syria) works to include the voices of women, youth and the marginalised in politics. The session, which will be held on 3 November, will explore and promote gender equality and a rights-based approach to health that enhances participation, builds resilience and empowers communities.
